The official SETI word? No.

In response to Dr. Steven Greer's claim that SETI has made alien contact & has subsequently done a cover-up of this extraterrestrial activity - SETI's own Seth Shostak went on Coast to Coast last night to harshly refute these claims.

"It's just a bit Silly George" Seth said, "Steven Greer apparently doesn't know much about SETI"

If you believe Greer's story, that this is a cover-up, then you might have expected official denial from SETI. After all, if the government, security agencies, and NASA are suppressing the truth about extraterrestrials, then you would presume SETI is under wraps and is nothing more than a public whitewash.

To break this now stalemate, it's up to Greer & his alleged SETI insiders to make a public statement. Greer has an upcoming radio show August 13, and will be making another appearance on Coast to Coast AM next September.

Will this SETI insider provide a statement? Or is this just a war of words between Greer & SETI, one that will never end with a conclusive answer?

Claims made this weekend have sparked the attention of millions of space geeks & paranormal fans as an insider has allegedly revealed that SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) has received alien signals from space.

Alien Video was the first website to bring this news to light when we posted this article nearly 2 months ago shortly after Dr. Steven Greer made the announcement.

On July 30, during the Coast to Coast AM radio show, host Art Bell quoted the Alien Video article and asked Greer if he could confirm the claims made.

"They have had numerous extraterrestrial signals," Greer said, during the radio broadcast. "They were apparently searching in a spectrum or in an area . . . where they hit the mother-load. The signals were so numerous that they began to have their systems externally jammed by some sort of human agency that did not want them to continue receiving those signals."

Greer went on to say that this information was revealed to him by a SETI insider.

"This person, if I were to say who he is, almost every one your listeners would probably known the name," Greer said.

When NASA stopped funding the SETI project in the early '90s, Microsoft founder Paul Allen stepped in with money to keep it alive.

Paul Allen invested $11.5 million in 2003 with an additional $1 million from another former Microsoft, Nathan Myrhvold, and again Allen invested $13 million in 2004 to support the construction of the first and second phases of the Allen Telescope Array.

Allen co-founded Microsoft Corporation with Bill Gates in 1975 and served as the company’s executive vice president of research and new product development, the company’s senior technology post, until 1983.

Is Allen the person Dr. Steven Greer is eluding to ? "This person," Greer says, "if I were to say who he is, almost every one your listeners would probably known the name."

An estimated 4.5 million listeners tune in to Coast to Coast each night. If everyone knows this SETI insider, who has confirmed extraterrestrial contact and personally gave this information to Dr. Greer, then the field of view has been substantially narrowed. Who is this popular person ?

Paul Allen comes to mind as the most popular person involved in SETI, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of someone on the SETI executive staff, including Dr. Frank Drake- who's famous "Drake Equation" calculates the probability of other life in our universe. Dr. Frank Drake is the Director of the SETI Institute's Center for the Study of Life in the Universe and also serves on the Board of Trustees of the SETI Institute as Chairman Emeritus.

It's been over 40 years since Frank Drake first aimed an antenna at the stars in the first modern SETI experiment - surely Frank would be appalled if the biggest story of the millennium was covered up by his own organization and certain government agencies.

Dr. Steven Greer is scheduled to appear on the Brooks Agnew Show on X-Squared Radio on Sunday, August 13, 2006 - 6:00-7:00 PM Eastern times.
